Mom and Dad Update

Quick update on Parents.

1. Mom had her MRI and visit with Dr. Jensen as well as two visits to Docs about her stomach problem. No growth on the tumor (good) but falling and increased headaches and confusion are mounting. She has less and less ability to function (i.e. cooking, laundry etc..) She is sporting a nice shiner from her last fall on the carpet. Any suggestions of what to do? I am looking into a medical bed so she can get in and out better and help her acid reflux. She is quick to say she is doing fine..but.......

2. Dad is doing better, although I've noticed the whole eye trauma has taken it out of him. He was so good to do all the extra's for mom, but now he seems more feeble and it seems more taxing. The eye gets better everyday--but he still needs the stitches removed and new glasses to improve the vision. His diabetes has been hard to control as of late. He had a reaction the other night and mom couldn't help him...it was scary for both of them. I can now add insulin injection to my resume'.

3. I have realized (and my be wrong on this) that we may be looking at a continued decline for both of them that may be slower and more painful. Do you have suggestions of what to do for them??

Thanks to Ruth and Annette for all the help during the stressful week of McKay's baptism. I think that has been the height of challenge in taking care of them. Annette is your knee any better? Ruth, did you really miss work because of your back. We all need to stay healthy! We are raising parents, you know!!
Love, Love!

Feeling very far away and useless. I have a very high opinion of home health's ability to be of use to aging couples, but then I worked for a really good company that way,(which not all are) and I know how mom is. You can lead a horse to water, yadda yadda.
